After Ogopogo rescues three busloads of children from certain peril, the residents want to say “thank-you” to their aquatic guardian. Unnoticed amidst the excitement, a mysterious stranger roams the lake. Is this just another summer tourist — or does the stranger have more sinister intentions?
Behind the Book
Ogopogo: And the Mysterious Stranger
After 37 years, the sequel to Ogopogo arrives in 2022.
This book was written shortly after the release of the original Ogopogo, published in 1985. Unfortunately, life got in the way, and its release was put on hold. In early 2021, following talks with Jadon Dick of Okanagan Publishers, we decided to launch the sequel at last.
Since then, we've been working with Angelina Danielle, a talented young artist from Kelowna, to develop the illustrations. Coming up with images to accompany the text has been a joy for all of us.
Usually an author's contribution to the artwork ends once the manuscript is submitted. I'm pleased to say that wasn't the case here — the artwork has been a true collaboration between Angelina, Jadon and myself. I couldn't be happier with the results.
